House DJ and producer Gamuel Sori stopped by to chat about his home country, and he left us with an exclusive guest mix!
Italian dance music artist Gamuel Sori is in the early process of building his recording catalog. What has come out of his studio thus far has the industry and worldwide community snapping their heads in his direction, though.
It all began with “Money’s Gone” back in 2020. This funky, feel-good tune was impossible to ignore. Since then, he’s kept us locked in a sultry groove with offerings like “Perder (Hakuna)” alongside Sinego, “Genesis” with Mr. Belt and Wezol, “Early In The Morning,” and his most recent offering, “Us” featuring Lovespeak.
It’s absolutely no wonder that highly revered platforms like BBC Radio 1 and Spinnin’ Records have been shouting his talent from the rooftops. He’s a beast behind the decks, keeping bodies moving in several countries. Some notable spots and events he’s played lately include Kiss FM in Romania, Amsterdam Dance Event, and YSL Beauty for the MYSLF fragrance launch in Paris. But while he loves to spread his sound far and wide, there’s something about his home country of Italy that keeps him coming back.
Many travelers who seek the electronic pulse will find themselves gravitating to bustling cities like Rome and Milan. Gamuel Sori can relate, stating, “VOLT club in Milan ranks among the best clubs in northern Italy.”
But don’t limit yourself. What you will find off the beaten path may surprise you. If you were to let Gamuel lead you to the late-night action, he has the perfect spot. “I’d definitely take you to Number One Disco for a true club experience, and you’re in luck because I’m a resident there, so you’re guaranteed to soak in the vibes,” he said.
It sounds like we’d have a mighty fine time on Gamuel’s stomping grounds, and he even went on to shout out a group doing the local scene proud. He said, “We have a vibrant dance scene in Italy. I believe the most prominent figures right now are the artists from Meduza.” This trio consists of Luca de Gregorio, Mattia Vitale, and Simone Giani, and together they’re responsible for the ultra-popular house track “Piece Of Your Heart” with Goodboys.
While there’s so much talent and potential waiting to be tapped, however, Gamuel warns that “It’s somewhat disheartening that many of these talents seek success beyond their home country because the mainstream music scene in Italy is not primarily focused on the dance genre.” Either way, he’s unapologetically proud of his community. “I believe that every place possesses its unique vibe,” said Gamuel. “Moreover, when collaborating with other writers, the most valuable aspect is being exposed to these distinctive vibes and continuously learning something new.“
That perspective is invaluable, so we simply had to get his thoughts on the best place to grab some grub when we visit. The gracious Italian music maker pointed us in the proper direction, suggesting that we choose “a place near Lake Como with plenty of excellent restaurants.” He went on to note, “Alternatively, in the south, virtually any part of the Italian islands or regions like Campania, Calabria, or Puglia offers fantastic options for a memorable summer vacation, and, of course, you won’t have to worry about the food.”
With nightlife and dining accounted for, next on the agenda is dusting off the passport, busting out the suitcase, and smashing purchase on a flight. Of course, planning requires a motivating soundtrack, and Gamuel Sori has got us covered with an exclusive guest mix.
