Wenzday Welcomes All to the ‘Heartbreakers Club’

Los Angeles-based artist Wenzday is packing pure house heat on Heartbreakers Club, her sophomore EP on IN / ROTATION.

When chatting about artists in the scene who have continually proven time and time again that they’ve got what it takes for superstardom, there’s no doubt Wenzday should be part of the discussion. From fantastic releases on mau5trap and Deadbeats to dominating festival sets and unique curated shows, she’s shown she has what it takes to win hearts over – well, at least all the broken ones out there.

Those familiar with Wenzday’s discography will fondly remember her Heartbreak House EP that dropped on IN / ROTATION in 2019. This release didn’t just help define what would become the signature sound of the Los Angeles-based artist; it also spawned her fervent fanbase of Heartbreakers. Now, four years later, Wenzday has returned to the imprint with the Heartbreakers Club EP in tow.

In June, Wenzday gave everyone a taste of what the Heartbreakers Club was about by releasing “Like That,” a collaboration with Tyler Graves that offered sultry vocals and a hypnotic groove that will leave you breathless. “Emergency” picks up right where “Like That” left off, with its chopped vocals leading the way. This one brings forth an intoxicating, stripped-back beat that puts tense hi-hats, spacey blips, and punchy elements front and center for a ride that will keep you moving deep into the night.

Another collaboration leaves listeners stunned as Wenzday looks to another artist rapidly ascending the ranks of the scene, Galo, for “Running Back.” If you’re looking for a groovy tune that will have you singing with it as you lose your mind on the dancefloor – this is the jam for you. The catchy vocals drip with emotion while the bassline keeps your feet shuffling as this lively tune commands immediate attention throughout its runtime. And there would be no better way to bring this ride to a close than by giving a proper VIP edit to the track with Kevin Flum that made it all possible, “Heartbreak House,” as Wenzday trades the in-your-face energy of the original for a tech house heater that’ will set your shoes on fire.

From the house to the club, I am so excited to present Heartbreaker’s Club—a collection of tracks ready-made for the club. I hope that this EP can take my listeners on an emotional journey using basslines, grooves, and vocals to explore the feelings experienced during breakups and finding eventual solace on the dancefloor.
