In partnership with Amazon Music, Andrew Bayer releases an intimate look into his career with a new documentary, No Silence.
Andrew Bayer is no stranger to the dance music scene. For over a decade, he has been an Anjunabeats mainstay helping Above & Beyond shape the label’s sound and identity, even spending time in London working closely with the trio. With a number of highly acclaimed albums, Bayer has pulled back the curtain, giving fans a glimpse into his journey as an artist, finding self-expression through his music. Today, the curtain opens wider as Bayer and Amazon Music release No Silence, an autobiographical documentary that explores the intimate topics of death, love, self-discovery, being LBGTQ+, and musicality through his eyes.
During his time in London, Andrew Bayer worked collaboratively with Above & Beyond and made a name for himself while facing life-altering challenges; his brother’s illness, coming out, and isolation. On the other side of those challenges and after coming out to his family, he found love and support and would eventually meet his husband, Allan.
Being able to live authentically with the support of loved ones changed Bayer’s music. His work reflected his emotional state, moving from more somber and introspective to celebratory. His 2018 album In My Last Life marked the shift and became a testament to more joyful self-expression, celebrating collaboration, the queer community, and this newfound love.
Bayer pushed this further with his latest album Duality. The album’s first part explores more pop and indie dance, while the second leans on more club-forward offerings. With a focus on spotlighting LGBTQ+ artists and songwriters, Bayer features an impressive roster of collaborators, all in an effort for more authentic creation. His refreshed commitment to remaining open to life, living in his truth, uplifting other artists, and pushing boundaries with his music remains evident with every release. Now with No Silence, fans can come to understand the journey that brought him to where he is.
