Pretty Lights Announces Return After Five-Year Hiatus

Pretty Lights has been absent from the scene since 2018, but now he’s finally set to make a return to the forefront with a new tour.

There has been a hole in the heart of Pretty Lights fans near and far ever since he stepped away from the scene after performing at Red Rocks for a 10 Year Anniversary celebration five years ago. Since then, rumors surrounding the beloved artist’s return have swirled, ranging from wild speculation to more evidence-based ideation. While Pretty Lights posted in 2020 to support Black Lives Matter and give away his music for free on his website, the rumors of his return to the stage can finally be put to rest with today’s announcement.

The hype surrounding Pretty Lights’ return began last week with The Festive Owl dusting off the cobwebs in the official subreddit and began teasing his comeback. This kicked his fans on social media into a frenzy, as this was the first time that his return truly felt like it would happen. Then, after updating his profile picture, the beloved artist dropped a video announcing his official return to the scene with the Soundship Spacesystem Tour featuring sets from PL Live in Dub and The Fantastic Pretty Lights.

In the video, Pretty Lights revealed the cities where the Soundship Spacesystem Tour will take place, and new details have surfaced that will span 27 total dates in nine cities, with two festival appearances in the summer and fall, the latter of which being Suwannee Hulaween. This includes Denver (August 4-6), Dillon (August 10-12), Atlanta (August 24-26), Philadelphia (September 14-16), Brooklyn (September 29-30), Chicago (October 19-21), The Caverns (November 3-4), San Francisco (November 9-11), and New Orleans (December 1-2).

I’ve been looking forward to this day for a long time and am immensely grateful to be healthy and happy, and surrounded by amazing people. I feel recharged and more ready than ever to launch a new vision of PL music and live events. Can’t wait to share everything that’s coming. And fam, seriously, thank you so much for your endless love and support. Thank you for all the positive energy while I took time to focus mine. It’s a new dawn and I can’t wait to see you all again shining bright.

The artist pre-sale for the Soundship Spacesystem Tour kicks off on Wednesday, April 5 at 10am local time, with the general sale beginning on Friday, April 7, at the same time. Tickets for The Caverns will be available on a future date, so sign up on Seated to know when those can be purchased. Check out the announcement video on YouTube, and make sure to head over to his website to sign up for pre-sale access. Stay tuned for more details!
