Movement Detroit officially announced that their upcoming edition in May 2021 will not be taking place due to the ongoing pandemic.

As we dive deeper into the new year, the uncertainty surrounding festivals in the near future moving forward remains uncertain. Festivals including Coachella, EDC Mexico, and Awakenings have already looked to potentially greener pastures in the latter half of the year, while others like Glastonbury and Defqon.1 have moved to 2022. Now, Movement Detroit is the latest to announce that their upcoming edition will be pushed to the future.

In a statement that was released on their website today, PAXAHAU said “We have been looking forward to reuniting with all of you on Memorial Day Weekend, but the ongoing pandemic and state regulations have led us to the painful realization that our beloved Movement Festival will not happen in May 2021.” They close the statement with a message of gratitude to those who have held on to their tickets and stuck with them during this turbulent time.

We promise that we will always look out for your safety and will work to bring you the greatest experience possible when we can all gather again in Techno City.

Artists including ANNA, Carl Craig, Seth Troxler, MK, and TESTPILOT had been announced on the lineup for the May edition of Movement Detroit 2021. Details in regards to potential future dates, refunds for tickets, or if artists on the lineup will be retained will be arriving next month, so make sure to follow their social accounts for the latest updates.

Stay tuned for more information about other cancellations and postponements from around the world as we continue to follow the impact coronavirus has on the festival season this year.
