Due to the uncertainty of the ongoing pandemic, Q-dance has announced that Defqon.1 will now make its return in June 2022.
Since inception, Defqon.1 has become one of the world’s most desired destinations for lovers of the harder styles. Hosted annually by behemoth brand Q-dance, the multi-day, multi-stage festival features top artists in the realm of hard dance and thousands upon thousands of attendees. Last year, the festival was postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic, but due to continued uncertainty today they’ve moved it a second time to the last week of June 2022.
In a statement that was posted to their Facebook page earlier today, Q-dance said, “When we postponed Defqon.1 Primal Energy last year, we had hoped for a more positive update at the beginning of 2021. For the past six months, we have done everything within our power to avoid this outcome, but it simply proved to be an impossible endeavor. Nevertheless, we are confident that the long-awaited gathering of our tribe will take place next year.”
Claiming that “Defqon.1 Primal Energy will be bigger, bolder and more powerful than ever,” when it returns, fans who currently have passes for the edition are urged to hang onto them if they can. Those who cannot hold onto their passes have the option to receive a Q-dance voucher or a refund, and all ticket purchasers will be contacted prior to February 28 in regards to their order.
Although those who were looking to get their fix of grand production and hardstyle beats were unable to do so in a live setting in 2021, Q-dance was one of the pioneering brands in the digital realm. Hosting multiple virtual showcases throughout the year, they consistently blew away attendees with their immersive production. Hopefully, those showcases will begin to return in the coming months, so make sure to follow them on socials for the latest updates.
Stay tuned for more information about other cancellations and postponements from around the world as we continue to follow the impact coronavirus has on the festival season this year.
