Tomorrowland had the entire world immersed in their amazing NYE experience and with the 151 countries watching they didn’t disappoint.
As many people said their goodbyes to 2020, Tomorrowland said “hello” to an international New Year’s Eve celebration dubbed 31.12.2020. Fans from around the world flocked to the virtual experience to see big names on the lineup that included everyone from Armin van Buuren and Major Lazer to Martin Garrix and Tchami.
People from vastly different backgrounds and diverse hometowns tuned into the virtual party, with the top five countries attending being Germany, Belgium, the USA, Netherlands, and the UK. Even major language barriers couldn’t stop attendees from getting connected with the experience and other people based on one shared love of good music and celebration. And in the midst of a global pandemic, over 2,000 Belgian healthcare workers had an opportunity to tune in and catch the festival as well as a gift from Tomorrowland.
Fans were complimented with brand-new records and exclusive unreleased IDs, 450 different tracks, and 21.5 hours of music. Martin Garrix’s set brought fresh IDs while Kölsch and Joris Voorn went b2b with plenty of amazing tunes as well. On top of this, new, unreleased ARTBAT music was put out into the world for the first time and Coone’s brand-new album showcase was also a massive draw.
As the clock struck midnight, artists played some of their biggest hits to ring in 2021. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike dropped “Mammoth,” CamelPhat threw down “Running Man,” Diplo played “On My Mind,” and Brennan Heart spun an NYE edit of “Lose My Mind.” Wondering what the most played song was during the virtual festival? The iconic “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac stole the show.
Not only were the artists and songs incredible to listen to, but the stages were truly a dream. With the incredible online digital arena available, NAOZ, Tomorrowland had plenty of room to work with to create a magical experience. It featured four stages paired with nearly 200 lasers, 2,750 lights, and 160 hours of footage. All of these meshed together to create a virtual venue for fans to stare in awe.
If you missed this magical event, there’s still time to catch up with Tomorrowland’s 31.12.2020. Those who already purchased the On-Demand Pass have the chance to relive the event until January 14. Separate passes are available at via their website and are €12,50 or roughly $15 USD.
