After throwing two successful editions earlier this month, Dirty Drive-In has postponed its remaining shows due to recent COVID-19 updates in Colorado.

As drive-in raves continue to surface around the country, concerns about them furthering the spread of COVID-19 remain. While some have seemingly gone off without a hitch, others have faced adversity with attendees not following guidelines or local regulations hampering the experience. Now, Lionshare has announced that they have postponed the two upcoming editions of Dirty Drive-In in Colorado.

Announced earlier this summer, the Dirty Drive-In series looked to give Coloradans a chance to get a dose of live music during from headliners including PEEKABOO, Dirt Monkey, EPROM, and GoldFish w/ Break Science. With a reduced capacity, temperature checks, and strict guidelines in place to upkeep social distancing, the first two editions were a success that also helped raise funds for social justice charities. But as the number of cases of COVID-19 continues to grow and new regulations were put in place, they’ve opted to postpone the remaining dates.

“We have all been working around the clock to make these nights incredible, and part of making memories is staying safe and healthy,” their statement reads. “After looking at the current COVID-19 updates and recent regulations we have been working with the artists and their teams to find the best path forward.” Colorado just imposed a state-wide mask policy as they approach 40,000 cases and has been at the forefront in their efforts to curb the spread of the virus further.

Unfortunately for those who were hoping to attend, that path forward is a postponement to a later date as Dirty Drive-In has decided to put the health and safety of their attendees above all else. Refunds for the shows featuring EPROM and GoldFish w/ Break Science will be available to those who purchased passes.

Stay tuned for more information about other cancellations and postponements from around the world as we continue to follow the impact coronavirus has on the festival season this year.
