Bass music behemoths Illenium and Excision have teamed up again for their latest genre-transcending release, “Feel Something.”
After the tremendous success of 2018’s “Gold (Stupid Love),” it was only a matter of time before Excision and Illenium would work together again on a new anthem. Fast-forward almost two years, and we have the release of their powerful track “Feel Something.”
Fans first caught a listen of the new collaboration at Lost Lands 2019, with jaws dropping both at the festival and in homes around the world as people tuned into the Couch Lands livestream. Now with its official release, we can feel all the angst and awe we felt when we first heard it.
Combining rock and dance music, “Feel Something,” which features vocals from metalcore band I Prevail, acknowledges hard and uncertain times one may face in life. With melodic tunes and heavy drops, it’s easy to discern the individual styles that Illenium and Excision both incorporated into the track. The song could not have come out at a more relatable time as so many people around the world are struggling with their own futures while processing this unsure time in life. Hopefully, through the power of music and the tight-knit dance music community, we can push forward and “prevail” as we look to better days.
Accompanying the track is its very own lyric video. Featuring visuals of Illenium’s signature phoenix clashing with Excision’s monstrous dinosaur, fans can effectively listen to the song, sing along and watch a visualizer all in one sitting. Its dynamic, bright colors and compelling scenes captivate viewers and complete the entire “Feel Something” release.
