Chris Lake, Chris Lorenzo, and Kenny Beats have joined forces to release “Long Jacket,” a spin on CAKE’s 2001 alt-rock hit track.

It seems like whatever Chris Lake and Chris Lorenzo touch turns into gold, and when you add another icon in the scene, Kenny Beats, into the mix, it’s an even greater match made in house heaven. That’s exactly what happened earlier this year when the three producers joined forces to create “Long Jacket,” and it’s out now for your listening pleasure.

The foundation of this fresh collaborative tune is rooted in CAKE’s 2001 hit single, “Short Skirt/Long Jacket,” a track that was released on their album Comfort Eagle and helped define the band’s sound. The three artists build on unmistakable groove and lyricism, stripping back elements to the most hypnotic ones, while leaning into its rolling low end and percussion. While Kenny Beats contributes his left-field production style to the collaboration, Chris Lake and Chris Lorenzo bring their punchy, dancefloor-forward elements, making its a tune that’s sure to get any crowd moving and grooving.
