BARELY ALIVE Opens KILLED IT! to Outside Artists with Debut Label Compilation

Killed It! Vol. 1 delivers 18 tracks of unapologetic brostep chaos, marking a bold new chapter as BARELY ALIVE opens KILLED IT! to a new generation of dubstep artists.

Over the past year, BARELY ALIVE has built KILLED IT! alongside co-founder Vishal Bhanderi around a steady stream of its own releases. Now, the duo is opening the label’s doors to outside talent with its first various artists compilation, Killed It! Vol. 1. Spanning 18 tracks, the project is a full-throttle showcase of modern brostep, bringing together rising acts, established producers, and underground standouts. The result is a compilation that pays homage to the genre’s 2010s heyday while pushing its signature sound into the future.

Leading the charge is the opening track, “Whatever Happened To Dubstep,” a collaboration between BARELY ALIVE and Cyclops that encapsulates the label’s creative vision. Fusing intricate sound design, eccentric vocal chops, and nostalgic dubstep influences with contemporary polish, the track sets the tone for the compilation. Elsewhere, K1N‘s “The Summoning” delivers dark, cinematic low-end and crushing bass design, while rickster‘s “aimbot” leans into relentless, high-octane brostep energy.

We wanted to kick off the label’s next chapter with bangs, growls, and lasers. ‘Killed It! Vol. 1’ is a heartfelt statement from a community of artists bringing their own perspective to brostep and an introduction to the sounds audiences can expect to hear much more from in the future. These artists have a lot to say, and they are only getting started.

KILLED IT!

The compilation also features contributions from Bizo, Smiles Only, Edison Cole, elden, Marcix, LOST FRIEND, KING WORM, Shming, and Phaceless, among others. Together, the artists explore the many dimensions of modern dubstep, spanning experimental sound design, melodic compositions, and unapologetically classic brostep to create a compilation that showcases the genre’s evolving spectrum.

KILLED IT! represents BARELY ALIVE’s commitment to keeping brostep alive by championing the genre’s next wave of talent and providing a platform where it can continue to evolve. Following an already packed year of releases and milestones, the duo is now bringing the broader brostep community along as they help shape the genre’s future.

Killed It! Vol. 1 is available on Spotify and your preferred streaming platform. Keep up with the label’s social media to see what they release next.
