Joining Lane 8 and Sultan + Shepard at Waterfront Park are Yotto b2b Kasbo, Massane b2b Qrion, and Ashibah b2b Grigoré.
Lane 8 has been tapped by San Diego organizer FNGRS CRSSD to help curate a one-of-a-kind gathering. FNGRS CRSSD x CROSS POLLINATION, as it’s called, consists entirely of back-to-back sets at Waterfront Park on August 9.
Lane 8 himself looks to team up with Sultan + Shepard, who boast a long history of releases on his This Never Happened record label. The two acts have also previously played b2b not once, but twice in San Diego alone. The first time was at Proper NYE/NYD 2024, and the latter was at the same event’s 2025 edition.
Accompanying them are Yotto b2b Kasbo, another distinct pairing. The former artist is a Finnish mainstay of Above & Beyond’s Anjunadeep label, and the latter is a Swedish producer who primarily releases on ODESZA’s Foreign Family Collective. Fans will get to see both styles overlap in real time at CROSS POLLINATION.
Also playing back to back are Massane b2b Qrion, two post-pandemic breakthrough acts who respectively hail from France and Japan. Last but not least are Ashibah and Grigoré, whose combined sound will add a measure of darkness to the festivites.
FNGRS CRSSD isn’t the only event organizer to emphasize back-to-back sets as of late. Brands like Ultra Music Festival and Lost Lands have bolstered their lineups with novel pairings as a means of enticing fans who see the same names when headliners are announced year after year.
