M-High Drops “Dark Web Pinger” On DJ Tennis’s Life and Death

Dutch DJ and producer M-High releases a massive, four-track EP on DJ Tennis’ Life and Death, previously one of his bucket list labels.

Fresh off releases on Three Six Zero Recordings and Rossi’s Home//GRXWN label, M-High has released a four-track EP, Dark Web Pinger, on DJ Tennis’ Life and Death imprint.

M-High, a Dutch producer whose real name is Marijn Schiedon, has had a huge run in recent years, releasing on highly respected labels like Hot Creations, Berg Audio, Salty Nuts, Locus, Djebali, You&Me, Rutilance, Meta, and many others. He’s also performed at respected venues like DC10, fabric, and Shelter, along with festivals all over the world. Life and Death is a fitting home for a release by M-High, who has become a key name in Amsterdam’s house scene through his A&R role at Prunk’s label, PIV.

The title track of the release, “Dark Web Pinger,” is a huge, peak-time house track with acid influence. It evolves into a dark, floaty atmosphere with extremely catchy vocals. I can only imagine that it did numbers on a dancefloor. It’s a track you wish woudn’t end.

“Taking Time” continues this with its own acid rhythm. It slows you down but still holds your attention. You’ll definitely find yourself humming that synth lead after this tune plays.

Track three on the EP, “Thief of Joy,” brings a familiar Dutch sound that has been quite popular recently. This is a track for the mid-set, with its catchy call and response bassline.

Lastly, “We Go Again” closes out the EP as a very nice B-side, making the rest of the release feel cohesive. It’s the kind of track you would play to close out a set. The extended versions also add a lot to the release.

Life and Death has been a bucket list label for me since day one. I’ve always been inspired by the way DJ Tennis approaches music and the whole philosophy around the label. One record can be deep and emotional, the next one raw and club-focused, but it still feels like it belongs to the same world. That balance is something I am always chasing in my music. In a world that is focused more and more on short-term wins and commercial performance, I really can tell that Tennis still values the art and process of making music the most, which is something I really appreciate.

Dark Web Pinger makes it clear that M-High still has more surprises in store. As summer approaches, you’ll likely be able to catch him all over Europe, in Ibiza, and beyond. He’s deeply embedded in the scene, gets great support from well respected names, and continues to release standout music.

Check out the release on Spotify or your favorite streaming platform, and purchase the vinyl before it sells out!
