When you talk about the hottest names in bass music currently, Zeds Dead, Subtronics, and Tape B are three names that always come up. When it was announced that they were doing their first-ever back-to-back-to-back at Decadence Colorado this past December, the dubstep community went crazy. When they started their set with the debut of their unreleased track, “Word Scramble,” the dubstep community lost their minds.
That unreleased tune has finally arrived from Zeds Dead’s iconic label Deadbeats, and it sounds even better than it did in the legendary b2b2b. “Word Scramble” is a masterfully crafted dubstep track that brings out the best from each artist.
The catchy vocals at the start of the song memorably combine the artists’ names and taglines before a face-melting first drop. The following two drops are just as filthy, and each drop feels fresh and satisfying while staying true to each artist’s style. Each drop contains recognizable pieces of all three artists’ signature sounds. You can tell from the flow and production of the track that it was made by true veterans of the scene, some may even say, the best in the world at what they do.
