Bass n Babes Records Releases Sophomore Compilation Album, ‘Bass n Babes Vol. II’

Bass n Babes Records, a label focused on showcasing femme and gender-expansive folx, returns with a 13-track project featuring new and emerging artists.

Summer 2025 marked the banging debut of Bass n Babes Records, an offshoot label of the collective Bass n Babes. Created to celebrate marginalized genders in the bass scene, this independent imprint provides a safe space for women, queer, non-binary, and trans artists, with a focus on bass music. Their second compilation, Bass n Babes Vol. II continues its mission of bridging the gap between community and music, offering thirteen songs of pure, unadulterated underground sound and wobble bass.

Bass n Babes Vol. II is as diverse in music as it is in its lineup, featuring an array of new and returning artists. Marking her first foray onto the Bass n Babes label is TrebleTina, whose intergalactic opener, “Spaceship to Nirvana,” is a sonic journey to other worlds. The hypnotic vocals and heavy basslines showcase why she’s Insomniac’s recent Project GLOW 2025 Discovery Project winner.

Baby Kush, nomi, and VIOLET have also returned to take listeners on a psychedelic journey. Bass n Babes founder Baby Kush’s “On a Trip” combines dreamy vocals with deep bass, while nomi and VIOLET’s “Fear” features melodic bass and trippy, atmospheric vibes. Newcomers ETHERA and IIBARRA both go hard with their styles of drum and bass, with ETHERA’S “Trinity” keeping things on the minimal side. IIBARRA’s “Science is Sexy” dabbles in breaks with a seductive vocal before crashing into heavy DnB.

In a male-dominated world, it’s refreshing to see more femme and queer individuals taking the reins and delivering some high-quality bass bangers. The album does a good job of seamlessly blending songs into one another, and it runs the gamut from experimental, dubstep, DnB, UK garage, and trap. One thing’s sure, Bass n Babes Vol. II delivers on the low end frequencies.
