Featuring eight tracks, The Chainsmokers’ new EP, Breathe, is a refreshing addition to the duo’s massive discography.

Alex Paul and Drew Taggart, better known as The Chainsmokers, have been feeding dance music enjoyers their chart-topping tunes for over a decade. Before TikTok, the duo found viral success with their 2013 single, “#SELFIE.” Skyrocketing to stardom, the pair has grown their project into a phenomenon, selling out arenas and prestigious venues worldwide. While their sound has inevitably changed since its inception, their ability to create trending tracks has remained, making them a driving force in dance music.

Flash forward to the present, and The Chainsmokers have released their sixth EP, Breathe, marking their first since 2024’s No Hard Feelings. Eight new tracks, connected by their tiles, welcome a new sound for the duo. While a majority of the tracks were rolled out as singles leading up to the EPs release, three fresh songs have been added to the mix.

“Air,” featuring vocalist Absolutely, presents as a future bass track. The light, airy lyricism from Absolutely pairs perfectly with warped, glitchy synths for an introspective moment. Quite possibly their most bass-driven song to date, “Helium” delights with wobbling bass and vocals from Anna Sofia and Taggart. The entrancing single released back in August tackles the conflicting feelings of being in a toxic relationship.

The standout track of the EP sees the duo team up with a former collaborator for a second time. “Veins” enlists the talents of Daya, who famously lent her vocals to The Chainsmokers’ breakout hit, “Don’t Let Me Down.” A melodic masterpiece, “Veins” showcases the singer’s vocal mastery while highlighting Paul and Taggart’s production capability in a style they’ve yet to explore.

Breathe by The Chainsmokers is out now! Listen to their latest release on your preferred streaming platform and follow along on socials for more from the dynamic duo.
