The king of mau5trap returns. deadmau5 drops his latest single, “Ameonna,” signaling new music ahead and his long-awaited album set to release in 2026.
After a decade-long hiatus from full-length projects, deadmau5 is back to remind the world why he remains one of the most influential figures in electronic music. Today, the Canadian producer and creative visionary has released “Ameonna,” the first glimpse into his anticipated 2026 studio album. Out now on his esteemed label mau5trap, the track marks the beginning of a brand new chapter since his W:/2016ALBUM/ album came out nearly ten years ago.
From slow-blooming synth pressure to cinematic builds, “Ameonna” feels like its own world. The track unfolds into a breathtaking swirl of emotion, texture, and nostalgia. It’s moody, meticulous, and unmistakably deadmau5, the the perfect prelude to what is shaping up to be one of dance music’s most anticipated albums of 2026. But he isn’t stopping there.
As he closes one chapter, he is boldly stepping into another: officially retiring the iconic Cube setup to debut an entirely new vision at Red Rocks Amphitheatre outside Denver on November 7-8. This two-night takeover promises a five-hour conceptual journey. Featuring sets by both deadmau5 and his techno alias, testpilot, as well as a special drum and bass closer, it will introduce fresh sounds, a brand-new production, and the kind of high-tech spectacle only Joel Zimmerman could dream up.
Alongside the shows, fans can step further into the ‘mau5 universe at the Denver mau5hop pop-up. With “Ameonna,” a new album on the horizon and an entirely reimagined live experience, deadmau5 is proving innovation is his default setting. A decade later, the ‘mau5 is still miles ahead of the game, and we can’t wait for this new era to come to fruition.
