Uniting Miami’s rising house, deep tech, and minimal stars, Lisa’s Kickback gives a snapshot of the future of the scene in Miami Full Time, Vol. 1.

Miami’s underground is thriving, and as one of the city’s most respected underground imprints, Lisa’s Kickback embodies its energy like few others can. The label was founded in 2022 by Kristian Acosta, better known as Lousy Lover, a DJ, producer, and designer raised between Little Havana and Brooklyn.

A fixture of Miami’s nightlife and the creative mind behind streetwear label Felt, Lousy Lover has built the imprint into a collective that stays true to his underground roots while elevating Miami’s deep tech and minimal sound. With an impressively large catalogue of standout releases like “Juanita” and “No Docta” already under its belt, the label now unveils Miami Full Time, Vol. 1, a defining VA compilation that captures the city’s raw sound while spotlighting its roster of homegrown talent.

The journey begins with Bryan Softwell’s “Ride,” a hypnotic 128 BPM groover that sets the tone with rolling basslines and sleek percussion. FULANO. follows with “Bad Guy,” a swaggering deep tech track layered with chopped vocals and heavy low end that adds a raw edge to the collection. The momentum continues with Ale Acosta’s “Pep Talk,” where tribal rhythms and minimal textures drive a percussive, high-energy cut built for peak hours.

L0-G lifts the EP higher with “Lift Off,” a playful yet bass-driven roller blending UK house influences with Miami grit. Dove & Serpent intensifies the ride with “Boss Up,” whose sleek, minimal grooves are infused with Latin-inspired textures and international energy. Blotter pushes into darker territory on “Psycho,” a relentless 130 BPM warehouse weapon that captures the city’s after-hours pulse.

Closing the release is “Theme Music,” a collaborative powerhouse from Dames House, Marchisio, Nate Chapman, and Lousy Lover himself. Hypnotic basslines and crisp percussion intertwine into a statement finale that reflects the collective ethos at the heart of Lisa’s Kickback.

With Miami Full Time, Vol. 1, Lisa’s Kickback showcases the rising stars shaping the city’s underground. It’s a snapshot of Miami today, and it’s a glimpse into the future of dance music, driven by collaboration, diversity, and a DIY ethos that’s evidently working well.
