BAMBII's 'Infinity Club II' is Club Music Done Right

We did it, Joe. We’re finally nearing the end of the TikTok techno era. After what felt like a lifetime of cheap remixes and similar basslines, we’re finally getting back to an appreciation for finely curated electronic music.

An artist who’s helped usher us into this budding era is BAMBII. The Toronto-based producer and recent Shygirl collaborator has released her latest EP, Infinity Club II, via Because Music. It’s a (continued) breath of fresh air. Following her widely celebrated EP, Infinity Club, the second edition is yet another declaration of BAMBII’s musical prowess, solidifying her as a tastemaker in the club scene.

Infinity Club II has the makings to be the club kid anthem of the summer. The track “NSYNC” featuring BEAM is riddled with Caribbean influences, making it the perfect backdrop for a sweaty sesh in a crowded warehouse. Her nod to her island heritage can also be heard on the lead single, “Remember.” The song gets a boost of sonic serotonin with features from R&B artist Ravyn Lenae and rapper Scrufizzer, serving as a reminder of the power behind artistic collaboration. The EP closes with “Spit,” a sultry invitation to indulge in the hedonism that lies in the underbelly of dance music culture.

It’s rare that a follow-up project is equally as impactful as the first. In BAMBII’s case, it boils down to skill. The artist is armed with an innate and indisputable understanding of electronic music. Her sound is layered and intelligent. It draws from global influences and is executed with meticulous intention. Given her cult following and respect from global publications like Rolling Stone, Resident Advisor, and DJ Mag, it’s clear there’s a growing interest in tasteful dance music, and BAMBII is one of the artists responsible.
