Caspa’s Project X EP features collaborations with quality dubstep acts, including PEEKABOO, Ternion Sound, Distinct Motive, EAZYBAKED, and MYTHM.

While many might know Caspa for his influential releases that helped shape the dubstep scene decades ago, this beloved artist has continued to look toward the future. This has been seen through his events like B2TU, which have featured top-tier talent rising through the scene’s ranks. Now, he’s reaffirming his place as an innovator by teaming up with other dubstep phenoms for his latest EP, Project X.

Out now via Bassrush Records, Project X isn’t your typical dubstep EP. Instead, it sees Caspa cook in the studio with some of the hottest names in the game today to create some pure bass madness. This includes Ternion Sound and MYTHM, who joined him at his recent stop in Denver, along with PEEKABOO, EAZYBAKED, and Distinct Motive.

This is one of those projects that I’m profoundly proud of. This whole thing was about pulling together the best and my most favourite producers in dubstep and having fun. I’m very proud of it and absolutely ecstatic to show it in its full glory to the world. The name of the EP is very simple: CASPA X the other artist. A project of collabs to make dubstep great again and again! Being able to release this project with Bassrush is full circle. Insomniac, Bassrush and all the crew have been supporting me for many years. True blessing! DUBSTEP SINCE DUBSTEP!

Caspa

Project X starts with “Gut Feeling,” a slow, steady soundscape from Capsa and PEEKABOO littered with vocal samples. The vibrancy is kicked up a notch when Distinct Motive joins in on “Affinity,” a ride that starts serene but delivers a dose of heavyweight wubs for added effect. Caspa’s tune with Ternion Sound, “Never Serious,” is one of the EP’s best, with ragga-infused elements that pair perfectly with its shape-shifting nature. It’s a perfect send-off for the trio, which is currently on their farewell tour.

Rounding out the five-track collection are “No Laughing Matter” with EAZYBAKED and “Real Talk” with MYTHM. Both tunes showcase the evolution of dubstep, with “No Laughing Matter” offering a warped ride into the leftfield realm while “Real Talk” doubles as a stripped-back weapon that’s sure to melt your mind.
