Neviks Makes an Impact on ‘Broken Rules EP’

UK producer Neviks has honed his unique style into his strongest release yet. The Broken Rules EP delivers five fresh grooves on Crechè Records.

For more than a decade, Neviks has been laying down original productions that stem from the vibrant influence of Chicago house, UK garage, and a wide variety of other dancefloor-igniting sounds. Over the years, he has landed releases on globally established labels such as Toolroom Records and Origins Rcrds. Now, he returns to Crechè Records with his most recent effort, the Broken Rules EP.

It features five new tracks that firmly establish Neviks’ deep, minimal sound. They’re unique to the onslaught of trendy house tracks hitting the airwaves from a similar vein. As opposed to leaning on kickdrums that run for too long or the uninspired basslines all too common in deep house and minimal, Neviks provides a sonically stimulating experience from front to back throughout the Broken Rules EP.

The title track opens the effort, expertly crafting danceable grooves as Neviks’ bubbling bassline and perfectly placed claps light a fire in our dancing shoes. “Check One” elevates the energy to a house-infused banger while staying true to the EP’s deep roots.

Those looking to raise the tempo ought to give “Material Things” a spin as potent warehouse vibes permeate the late-night groover. Deep, early morning vibes abound on “Hear Me Now,” whose second drop is sonic silk, a scintillating groove tailor made for house heads around the globe. “High Life” concludes the EP with a percussion-rich deep house masterclass, proving that Neviks is here to stay.

Neviks made a name for himself across the UK and beyond during the peak of the vinyl era while working alongside house music mainstay Josh Butler, NYC vinyl legend Eman, and many others. The seasoned producer and DJ has continued to reinvent his sound while keeping his finger on the pulse of house music culture across the globe.

Neviks’ Broken Rules EP is out now on all major platforms. Dive into the deep end and explore the groovier side of house music.

Logan Garrison

It was a decade ago that Logan Garrison, better known as DJ Lo_G, first took the stage to spin sets for crowds in the snowy towns of Lake Tahoe and Aspen. Originally spinning sounds in the realm of glitch and bass music, he began to develop a passion for all things house as he returned to his hometown and hasn’t looked back since. Over the years, DJ Lo_G has become a fixture in the Aspen nightlife scene as he has found a home at Belly Up and regularly warms up the stage for some of dance music’s biggest artists like The Chainsmokers, Chris Lake, Slow Magic, Nora En Pure, and most recently ZHU. Joining the EDM Identity team back in 2018, he’s dug even deeper into dance music and the festival scene. Whether he’s covering events like Mysteryland and shows in Aspen, interviewing artists like Hannah Wants, and reviewing fresh releases, his passion for the entire community shines throughout.
