DEATH CODE unleashes his destructive style on a lethal Paradigm Shift guest mix ahead of his back-to-back performance with KAMI at EDC Las Vegas.
As thousands of ravers worldwide gear up for EDC Las Vegas, it’s easy to get caught up in the commotion of attending North America’s premier dance music festival. Although it may be overwhelming, especially for a first-time attendee, EDM Identity is here to help. EDCLV offers a plethora of genres and styles, but hard dance and hard techno arguably reign supreme. One artist who has seamlessly blended the best of both worlds is American Hard Dance specialist DEATH CODE.
Since triumphantly returning to hard dance, he’s explored the world of rawstyle to great success with stunning releases on Theracords, Gearbox Digital, and Scantraxx, as well as insane performances at Intents, Basscon Wasteland, and so much more! Despite his impressive achievements, DEATH CODE still wanted to evolve his project.
After years of working in the raw hardstyle realm, I started feeling like something was missing. I wanted to dig deeper, not just into heavier sounds, but into the emotions and chaos that I was feeling inside. That’s when I started shifting into hard industrial techno.
DEATH CODE
Finding a new home in the hardest industrial techno has allowed DEATH CODE to be more experimental with his artistic vision. “There’s a certain rawness in industrial that mirrors how I see the world now,” he told EDM Identity. “It’s gritty, imperfect, a little violent, but still beautiful in its own way.” His project is dark and personal, but it constantly evolves, which is what defines DEATH CODE today.
DEATH CODE also expressed excitement for the evolution of the hard sounds that permeate the dancefloors in the States. “There’s this new wave of artists and fans who aren’t interested in staying inside genre lines,” he said. “The lines between rawstyle, hardcore, and industrial techno are blurring, and that’s where some of the most innovative stuff is happening.”

For the next chapter of his story, DEATH CODE is returning to EDC Las Vegas for a special performance with American Hard Dance supergroup KAMI. In the past, the two have dueled on stage in a versus performance at the one and only edition of Basscon Bullseye! Both acts come from heavy and aggressive roots while taking a unique approach to sound and energy.
Speaking about their performance, DEATH CODE said, “We’re pushing each other creatively, and the chemistry has been crazy. Fans can expect a lot of unreleased material, insane transitions, and pure chaos.” Besides the set, returning to the desert feels surreal for DEATH CODE as EDCLV holds so much weight for fans and artists alike.
Last year when I played, it was the closing set at sunrise. That moment really stuck with me. Watching the sky change while still feeling the energy of all the people in front of me… it was one of those rare moments when everything just clicked. It reminded me why I do this. Coming back now with a b2b alongside KAMI feels like the perfect next chapter.
DEATH CODE
Before heading to the desert, DEATH CODE stopped by to spin up a lethal guest mix that gives fans a taste of his destructive style and a preview of the mayhem to come at EDCLV with KAMI. It clocks in at 33 minutes, during which DEATH CODE takes fans on a ride through the hardest industrial music from his catalog and the best in the scene. As a special treat, he also includes one of his most highly anticipated tracks, “THE SLEEPWALKER,” which officially releases the week after EDCLV on Theracords.
It’s been wild watching the American Hard Dance scene evolve over the years. What used to feel like an isolated niche has started to bleed into other corners of electronic music, and one of the most exciting shifts I’m seeing is the crossover between hardstyle/raw and hard techno. I think we’re going to see a whole new branch of the scene form. Something that doesn’t fit neatly into a box. I’m excited!
