Armin van Buuren Announces Upcoming Album, ‘Breathe Out’

Breathe Out follows 2024’s Breathe In and completes Armin van Buuren’s Breathe double album concept.

January 2024 saw Armin van Buuren straddle the line between old and new sounds on his 12-song album, Breathe In. The Dutch trance icon has now announced that he will follow it up with an effort titled Breathe Out via Armada Music on June 27 that will consist of a whopping 39 tracks.

Among them are collaborations with a pool of artists eclectic enough to include Australian drum and bass outfit Pendulum, French EDM superstar David Guetta, and even US ’80s hair metal band Bon Jovi. A press release says that the album is the product of a “new, healthier and reconnected” Armin van Buuren, professing the world-famous artist’s “stronger sense of self, more creativity and an even more dauntless approach to studio work.”

In a statement of his own, van Buuren shared, “Breathe Out really shows how far I’ve come, not just as an artist, but as a person. This album is about creative freedom, living fully, and putting everything I’ve learned — especially through my journey with mental health and self-growth — into the music. In many ways, it feels like coming full circle.”

Breathe In and Breathe Out are framed as two parts of a single album simply titled Breathe. Altogether, it consists of 51 tracks that chart something of a transitional period for van Buuren.

Meanwhile, May will see the world-famous DJ and producer take his talents to Vision & Colour Music Festival in Zuhai, China on May 3 before he performs twice at Ultra South Africa in Cape Town on May 9 and 10. In the weeks leading up to the release of Breathe Out, he will take the stage at Sónar Barcelona on June 14 and as Ushuaïa Ibiza on June 22.

Pre-save Breathe Out on Spotify ahead of its June 27 release, and follow Armin van Buuren to hear it across platforms when it arrives.
