As he continues to ride a wave of success in the scene, Massano checks off another significant milestone by releasing his debut album, Natural.

Liverpool-based DJ and producer Massano has been on quite a tear lately. His meteoric rise in the melodic techno realm has been propelled by tracks that have left listeners breathless and jaw-dropping performances around the world. Recent months have seen Massano deliver stunning sets at the Sphere and festivals like Coachella and Ultra Music Festival. Still, he had something else special in store for fans: his debut album, Natural.

Natural isn’t just a 15-track album that Massano threw together haphazardly. It’s a collection of tunes that are a statement, a definition of where he is in his career and where he intends to take it next.

‘Natural’ showcases my story as an artist so far. A collection of tracks, emotions, and memories that have been years in the making. Every track has had its own incredible journey from inception to completion. Some tracks I never thought would see the light of day, and other tracks people have been asking for non-stop for months and months.

“I wanted to release the album on my own label, “Simulate,” to have ultimate control over everything from the music to the aesthetic,” Massano continued. “I feel a lot of what I have done so far in my career has been organic and building on my own foundations, so continuing that approach felt totally natural for my debut album.” His creative direction for this album includes multiple long-form pieces, such as a livestream in England and a mini-documentary, as well as vinyl copies and merch for a physical approach.

At the core of Natural are the stunning soundscapes that Massano concocted in the studio. Littered throughout the release are some of the standout tunes that he’s released in recent years, like notable collaboration “Angel In The Dark” with Anyma and Nathan Nicholson, which debuted during the run of shows at the Sphere in Las Vegas. Others, such as “Oblivion” with CamelPhat and Nu-La, and “Healing” with Stephan Bodzin and Jem Cooke, also make an appearance.

Massano fully flexes on the new tunes as well. Natural‘s intro, “Welcome To The Underworld,” is a perfect fit with a blend of inspiring vocals and larger-than-life synths that culminate into a massive explosion of mainstage-ready energy. Another standout, “Lift Me Up,” arrives soon after. Massano looked to Un:said and RHODES for this one, with the three crafting an intoxicating soundscape that thuds forward into the depths of the night.

While the album is rooted in melodic techno, Massano offers tracks that showcase other influences he has drawn from while producing. “Fade Away” with braev gives listeners a touch of new wave with its slowed tempo and emotion-fueled vocals. “Every Day” is one of the faster-paced tunes on the album, at 138 BPM, and it breaks from the drone of the soundscapes in the 120s found elsewhere with a light, bubbly nature.

If there’s one big takeaway from Natural, it’s that this is a well-constructed body of work by Massano that proves how immersive melodic techno tracks can be. The tunes on this album stand tall without the need for visuals; the underlying story that he set out to tell, along with the quality of each production, is more than enough to satiate your cravings.

Massano’s Natural is out now across all platforms. Give it a listen and follow this melodic techno artist’s social media channels to stay in the know on what he’s up to next!
