GRYFFIN and Excision Create Mainstage Magic on New Single

GRYFFIN and Excision enlist vocalist Julia Michaels for their emotionally charged new single, “Air.”

GRYFFIN is back with another monster of a single. Kicking the year off strong, he dropped the captivating progressive house track “In My Head” alongside Kaskade and Nu-La. Now, the dynamic DJ continues his momentum with an emotive collaboration with dubstep legend Excision. Their new release, “Air,” seamlessly combines their signature styles, making for a mainstage festival anthem.

The melodic and bright soundscape features GRYFFIN’s cinematic melodies. Enhanced with the bass-fueled build-ups and heavy bass stabs of Excision, the tune is the perfect fusion of their respective production styles. The single shines with the addition of soaring vocals from Julia Michaels, adding an emotional edge to the track. Debuted at EDC Mexico in February, the live performance also marked the first time the two artists met in person.

With the release of “Air,” GRYFFIN continues to add to his extensive music catalog. With collaborations spanning various genres of electronic dance music, previous collaborators include Disco Lines, Armin van Buuren, Elderbrook, and Whethan, all of whom were featured on his 2024 album PULSE. He’s currently in the midst of the PULSE: Phase 2 tour, which will be his final run of live shows supporting the album.

On the flip side, Excision has continued his reign as one of the leading artists in the bass music scene, with standout solo releases and massive collaborations like “Rapid Fire” with Ganja White Night, Eksman, and Wooli. He’s slated to host a residency in Las Vegas all summer while also taking the stage at festivals like EDC Las Vegas, Forbidden Kingdom, Rampage Open Air, Shambhala, and his festivals, Bass Canyon and Lost Lands.
