Don Diablo Marks a Decade of HEXAGON with New Track and Label Direction

After a decade, Don Diablo is opening the doors to a new era of HEXAGON with the release of his latest single, “Freek Like Me.”

Dutch DJ and producer Don Diablo has been a force to be reckoned with in the dance music scene for decades. His career catapulted to new heights in the 2010s, especially after landing hit tracks on labels like Axtone, Protocol Recordings, SPINNIN’, and SIZE. In 2015, he created a space to showcase his work and that of other talented artists in the scene: HEXAGON. Now, a decade after its launch, Don Diablo is ushering in a new era of the label.

“Over the past ten years, HEXAGON has grown into a global platform – not just a label but a movement, a family, and a launchpad for new talent,” Don Diablo shared. During that time, major artists ranging from MK and Galantis to Felix Jaehn and Major Lazer released tunes on the label. But now, the label boss is looking to shift gears and head into a new era with what he’s dubbed HEXAGON 2.0.

Aside from fresh releases, Don Diablo went on to state that he intends to “blur the line between the DJ and the crowd,” effectively breaking the fourth wall and creating a communal space to dance. While that experience will happen in the future, he’s satiating everyone with a taste of the sounds that will permeate the imprint moving forward by dropping his latest single, “Freek Like Me.”

On “Freek Like Me,” Don Diablo layers classic house elements, including piano synths, rave stabs, and hypnotic vocal hooks, over a bassline that pumps with energy. You’ll find yourself falling in love with this tune for its subdued big room aesthetic, flourishes of garage, and banging four-on-the-floor nature that is sure to light a fire in your feet.

We’re entering a new era where quality needs to win over quantity. ‘Freek Like Me’ marks the start of HEXAGON 2.0 – a new chapter where every release is more intentional, more meaningful, and designed to truly connect with people, not just feed the algorithms. From a musical perspective, I’m going back to the essence — combining the classic house sounds I grew up with and futuristic sound design. I call it NeoNostalgia. Just like the early days of Future House – HOUSE is the FUTURE, and the FUTURE is HOUSE.
