Liminal MX Releases Debut Album 'Save Me'

Rising star Liminal MX makes his debut on ELIF’s Marginalia label, paving the way for a new era of genre-bending electronic artists.

The electronic music scene is constantly changing, with the latest evolutionary shift being the rejection of adhering to one specific genre. Many budding artists today find greater creative expression through blending many different types of sounds. At the forefront of this new wave of rising artists is Liminal MX. The genre with which this ascending producer would be most closely associated would be techno, but reducing his sound to just one category would be an insult.

The Mexican producer dropped tunes on Tortuga and Innuendo earlier this year, but to cap off 2024, he’s released his debut album, Save Me, on ELIF’s imprint Marginalia. The seven-track spread is a concoction of genres ranging from techno to tech house to house to electronic. It’s genre alchemy at its finest.

Some of the tracks on Save Me are obscure and almost unsettling but in the most perfect way. Liminal MX lets grandeur, soul-shivering vocals ring over haunting chord progressions on the title track. He gives the Tuluminati a run for their money with sultry synths and an endearing female vocal on “With Me.” There’s also no doubt that the hypnotic rhythm of “Feel Me” will be a Playa favorite at Burning Man next year. The album is a genre fusion wonder and solidifies Liminal MX’s status as a rising star and trailblazer for the future of the electronic music scene.

Save Me is a leap forward for the label, whose primary mission is to give undiscovered artists who will one day reshape the industry’s future a fair platform to be heard.
