Habstrakt Flexes Versatility in Hotly Anticipated EP, ‘Don’t Stop’

Habstrakt returns with his experimental, high-octane sound. The French bass house legend has just released the Don’t Stop EP via Distorted Reality.

Habstrakt (real name Adam Jouneau) has a distinct knack for synthesizing down and dirty beats of all types. He seamlessly blends a concoction of dubstep, house, drum and bass and future bass into one steamroller of a dance party, keeping his audience on their toes, locked into the sound.

Jouneau has just released the EP Don’t Stop, which brings his signature laissez-faire attitude balanced by a meticulous array of satisfying sounds. The title track begins with a gritty, industrial groove. Tension builds toward a drop, where it breaks down into a distorted, funky bass line that raises the energy and pushes the crowd to dance even harder.

Prior to today’s official release of “Don’t Stop,” the ID had gained recognition as a certified banger by crowds across the globe, including this past October at Red Rocks. As fans awaited its debut, they pleaded for it in Insta comments such as, “Plz when.”

“DISK8” delves into a deep bass sound, offering elements of dance hall balanced by filthy, heavy distorted drops and wonky alien organ sounds. Meanwhile, “i was blind” goes into full-on alien abduction mode as Habstrakt explores a remote, glitchy sound terrain that ends on a cliffhanger.

Habstrakt has garnered widespread acclaim for his groundbreaking repertoire and nimble live act. He has performed on stages at top-tier gatherings such as Ultra Music Festival Miami, EDC Las Vegas, and Amsterdam Dance Event. He has also collaborated with dubstep legend Skrillex and bass house trailblazer Jauz, just to name a couple.

Nonetheless, Habstrakt tries not to take himself too seriously too often. On Instagram, he is open and down to earth and even shouts out his “imposter syndrome” in the caption of his 2023 Los Angeles Palladium show recap. In his newest reel, he dressed up like a clown for a self-deprecating, witty take on being an artist in 2024.

Stop right now and go listen to Don’t Stop on Spotify or on your preferred streaming platform.
