San Diego-based DJ and producer Not Not invites listeners to forge meaningful bonds on his latest FaceTime EP on Country Club Disco.

As the dance music scene in SoCal continues to thrive, Not Not is a shining example of an artist dedicated to infusing his creativity into his productions. He has proven himself to be a formidable force with his high-octane releases like “To The Brain,” “Got The Moves,” and “Bender Buddy,” which were chartered on some of the most authoritative labels such as Box Of Cats, Strangelove, Hood Politics, House of Bangerz, and more. This time, Not Not is ready to mark his mark on Country Club Disco with his latest EP, FaceTime.

In a world filled with ever-growing attachments to our phones, I wanted this EP to highlight our buried longing for authentic facetime. A tangible connection that stimulates you more than any number of likes or comments. The title track focuses on the excitement of getting called over to your lover’s house and feeling of adventure on your way over, like going up a roller coaster. Put It Down takes a more blunt and aggressive approach and I straight up tell you to stop recording – “put the phone down!”

Not Not

The title track is defined by its full-throttle bassline and hypnotic percussion loops that make for an expertly executed peak-time energy mix. Coupled with the frenetic vocal chops from Liridona, Not captures the exhilaration in this thrilling rush that mirrors the anticipation of heading to a lover’s house. The pounding adrenaline of this track evokes an adventurous intensity, making it a perfect sonic representation of an electrifying experience.

Next, Not Not navigates a spectrum of light and dark sounds in “Check This Out,” adding a thumping spin to the EP, yet maintaining the irresistible appeal of a potent track. “Put It Down” is carried by an unfiltered bass stab and pulsating drums, reflecting the track’s confrontational tone to urge listeners to put down their phones and step away from distractions.

The final track, “Slay Queen,” gives the EP a new dancefloor-ready identity with its rousing opening sounds of euphoric electronic elements and sweeping synths. This song continues to breed a highly stimulating sonic escapade and represents a prime example of Not Not’s gift for bringing a dizzying hook to club music.

So leave your phones behind and lose yourself in the grooves of the FaceTime EP! Listen on Spotify or your preferred platform, and follow Not Not for updates on upcoming shows and releases.
