Speaking of vibes, Tape B gifted even more of them on his latest mixtape, Vibe Check Vol. 2. Within this seven-track release, he provides an impressive spread of genres from artists we all know and love, including Skrillex, T Pain, TLC, and Natasha Bedingfield to name a few. If a track is nice, produce it twice, and Tape B did just that as he put his magic touch on classics.
“DOPAMINE x NO TYPE VIP” starts the mixtape strong and dramatically shifts you into Tape B’s world. Piano notes and iconic vocals lead you into the hard-hitting dubstep that will get headbangers in motion.
Tape B’s edit of Hamdi’s sensational hit “Counting” arrives to blow listeners away, and they’ll need to keep their “Hands On The Wheel” when the next flip with IDHS comes on. ScHoolBOY Q’s lyrics over wobbly madness are in high supply during this entire song. Tape B tackles Skrillex and Sirah‘s “Bangarang” after that, flipping it from a high-energy onslaught to a chilled-out ride while retaining the original’s best elements throughout its entire runtime.
The following three flips are just as fantastic. His take on TLC’s “No Scrubs” keeps the lyrics but flips the script with distorted elements and other bubbly production elements. Natasha Bedingfield’s “Pocket Full Of Sunshine” takes center stage with a surprising drop that shifts from dubstep to a bouncy house groove. Finally, the flip of T-Pain and Mike Jones’ “Im N Luv (with A Stripper)” flip leaves listeners on the floor as Tape B transforms it into a drum and bass banger.
