The annual musical lakeside paradise, Lightning in a Bottle, is almost here, and we’ve got you covered on the top sets to catch.
In just a week, one of SoCal’s most golden treasures, Lightning In A Bottle, is taking over Buena Vista Recreational Park with a massive, diverse lineup. Tipper, Skream, Clozee, Lane 8, James Blake, and Skrillex, are just a few who will be headlining the five-day soiree. They will be taking over stages like the Thunder, Lightning, and the iconic Woogie, alongside other notable mentions goddard., Of The Trees, Nora En Pure, and Bob Moses. LiB also never misses with a wall-to-wall undercard of local and rising artists from many walks to genres. Some coming to join the festivities are Kurei, Abelation, Mythym, Redrum, Brittanyfromearlier, and Wraz.
LiB is also known for their advocacy of self care, wellness, and education. The workshop lineup is almost as big as the musical lineup, featuring talks from activists, meditation, sound healing, and so much more. Attendees can also interact with countless art installations, art cars, and tons of random easter eggs. Trade a treasure at Frick Frack Blackjack, watch a drag show at Unicorn Palace, dance lakeside at the Junkyard, or catch random vinyl sets, and participate in late-night karaoke all on a walk’s way between stages. Not to mention, there is an abundance of unique and sought-after vendors where you can grab some festie fit come-ups, if you’re a shopaholic like me!
Alongside all the production and activities, the community of LiB is a rarity to come by nowadays. The behind-the-scenes teams, longtime goers, and first-timers all bring a sense of belonging and intention to the weekend, which encourage attendees to connect, reflect, and expand their own personal growth within. There’s a reason I keep coming back every year – I learn something new about myself every time.

Nia Archives
Hailing as one of the top jungle and drum & bass artists of this generation, Nia Archives is paving the way of her own sound to a global level. Her recent album Silence Is Loud showcases her blend of singer-songwriter talents, warehouse-pumping beats, and production value. This is especially true with hot tracks like “Unfinished Business” and “Forbidden Feelingz.” She has garnered recognition from artists Beyonce and Fred Again.., and has won the Best Producer award from NME. Not to mention, she sells out each and every one of LA shows. Now, she’s bringing her signature sound to LiB, for a crowd full of junglists and baddies.
Dara Genesis
Putting bass music on a pedestal, hidden gem Dara Genesis is up and coming as an artist to watch from the LA underground scene. You can catch her dominating warehouse shows, throwing all sorts of artist parties, opening for artists like Of The Trees and Ternion Sound, as well as bringing her flair to last year’s Coachella. Her finger on the pulse of modern bass music across the US as well as her nonstop mission of bringing baddie energy to the stage, makes her set a can’t miss party. She’s bound to dominate the Stacks this weekend, so put her on your schedule!
Josh Teed
Josh Teed will expand your musical taste and truly put on a show. His live instrumental showcases include layering multiple keys at once, covering what would seem to be impossible tracks to cover, and putting his own twist on all of it. He’s known for bringing gorgeous synth beats to the soundsystem, making him a jack of all trades. Don’t get it twisted though, Josh Teed still includes crazy basslines and flips in his sets to get the crowd grooving.
OAKK
If you’re looking to expand your musical taste to impress your friends, OAKK is the perfect artist for you. His masterclass on experiemental bass, hip-hop, and r&b flairs are the ultimate party tunes for a dirty festival getdown. Tracks like “Gimme That,” “Sunshowers,” and “Butter & Gold” are bound to compliment a massive sound system and are prime examples of why his set is a can’t-miss. OAKK’s brand new album comes out the weekend after LiB, so you’ll definitely hear his brand new tracks including the latest “problems.”
Honey Dijon
If you don’t know Honey Dijon – get to know her. This GRAMMY-nominated producer and singer-songwriter is making waves with her deep-house grooves and iconic collaborations. Along with her influential part in Beyonce’s Renaissance, her own album Black Girl Magic highlights eclectic parts of electronic music and features artists like Channel Tres and EVE. Her music is inviting, blissful, and consistent in keeping up an ultimate vibe. She’s closing out the Thursday pre-party, so make sure to set your intentions and vibrations for the weekend by getting lost in Honey Dijon’s tracks.
