Ring ring, Drone is on the line with four new tracks at your disposal on his latest EP, Cellular – out now on 1985 Music!
Steadily cementing his place in the 1985 Music family, Drone is on his way to the imprint’s hall of fame. Always keeping his love for the underground at the forefront, it is no surprise that his talents have been met with undoubted support from the 1985 community and beyond. With his refreshing takes on many avenues of sound, from dubstep to garage and everything in between, Drone can change how the scene views the underground forever.
Just last year, Drone unleashed his Dance With The Devil album, which captivated everyone who listened. Now, he is back to rattle minds again with his latest 1985 EP, Cellular. Focusing on his love for the underground, the four tracks shine through, loading this body of work with more dark ammo to prove Drone’s passion for his niche of sound.
Proving he does this “Everyday,” the first track, lays out Drone’s trademark sounds mixed with war dub energy. Let the sirens lead you into battle as the staggering percussion follows suit. Find yourself being “Slingshot” as the punchy intro throws you off the edge, spiraling along to the dissociating high-pitched sounds present.
Next, the title track comes into focus. Static-filled airwaves flow into your ears, constantly shifting from left to right. A brief silence greets you, but it doesn’t last long as indistinct vocals rush you back into the previously unsteady territory.
Cesco joins Drone to end the EP with “Zoo.” The pair provide a bazooka locked and loaded with distorted “ground predators” ready to attack on sight. Run for cover because these hard-hitting soundscapes are not here to play games.
