Faithless are breaking an eight-year gigging hiatus with a run of dates across Europe.

Well over a year has passed since Faithless frontman Maxi Jazz passed away. It’s been eight since the group performed any meaningful capacity. The British band nonetheless continue to look to the future, announcing the 2024 Champion Sound Tour and less specific plans to deliver new recorded music.

“We are nervous, but also very EXCITED,” wrote Faithless members Rollo and Sister Bliss in a statement shared on social media. “We know the show has to be something special: a celebration of our past, our musical loves, of [Maxi] himself and of course, our musical future.”

Faithless’ upcoming tour will bring them to Belgium, Luxembourg, and Amsterdam, not to mention a run of dates in the UK. After performances at Glastonbury, Camp Bestival, and Wilderness in June, July, and August, respectively, it will conclude with a show at Roadhouse in London.

Joining the band on tour is Italian visual artist Jvan Morandi. The longtime Faithless collaborator was responsible for the memorable themes of their 2001 tour.

Rollo and Sister Bliss closed their statement out with something of a bombshell. “We will also be releasing new music;” they wrote, “we are, in fact, in the studio as we write this…“

Sister Bliss told DJ Mag that the band had worked together on an album titled All Blessed during lockdown that they never got to play out live. They will play out cuts from the effort during their upcoming shows, but it was important to them that they release new material as well.

“I’ve been very industrious, and when I’m working I’m just super focused because there’s a story to tell,” said Sister Bliss. “You realise the point of all of that angst you go through in the studio when you get to play your music to an audience and touch them or move them in some way.”

Founded in 1995, Faithless became an international export on the back of hit singles such as “Insomnia” and “God Is a DJ.” Maxi Jazz died on December 23rd, 2022 at age 65 due to natural causes.
