Noisia, Lumen, and Sleepnet – Finality
Drum and bass fans were treated to a huge, jungly collaboration last week. Noisia teamed up with Lumen and Sleepnet for a unique new track via none other than his own imprint, Vision Recordings. Distorted vocal stabs introduce the track, building in intensity as the broken drums slowly come into play behind them for a refreshing jungle beat that you’ll have to run back.
Freq Nasty and Deekline – Every Posse and Crew (Mary Droppinz Remix)
The jungle vibes were truly high last week, and our next track is a catchy remix from the ever-talented multi-genre producer Mary Droppinz. The original track, “Every Posse & Crew” by Deekline and Freq Nasty, was released just under a decade ago, and Mary Droppinz got together with London’s Hot Cakes to put her own modern spin on the classic sound. This tune is a Spotify and Beatport exclusive for the first two weeks, so be sure to check those sites for a first listen.
Black Carl! – M.O.V.E.
Black Carl! is back with his second self-release of 2024 in the form of a sultry yet experimental dubstep tune, “M.O.V.E.” Echoing vocals float amid a harp-like melody to create an eerie vibe with a tribal-inspired feel. More of the classic, slow drums listeners love are being incorporated into new dubstep tracks, and Black Carl! used them wisely as you wouldn’t expect the wonky drop in store following the broken build-up.
Drone – Everyday
1985 Music is on a roll with 2024 releases from all of the veterans from their imprint. Their latest is the first single from a forthcoming EP from UK producer Drone, who released his debut album with the label almost exactly a year ago last April. While “Everyday” clocks in at a coveted 140 BPM, it may not be the dancefloor banger you’d guess from Drone. It nonetheless stands out as another sultry offering that will undoubtedly purr on a sound system and mix like butter in live sets.
Isded – Shitfire
If you’re searching for the lowest of low end 140 womps and wobbles, look no further than Isded‘s latest EP with Deep, Dark, and Dangerous. Pressed on vinyl as Isded’s first-ever vinyl release, the EP not only marks a huge career milestone for the producer but shows off his undeniable talent in the dubstep realm. “Shitfire” concludes Isded’s Swang EP with a bang that we can only dream of hearing on a sound system soon.
