Tchami and Malaa Take No Redemption Down a New Road on Debut Album

Tchami and Malaa have officially unleashed Veni, Vidi, Vici after bringing back their beloved b2b tour concept, No Redemption!

Confession Records boss Tchami and Malaa the enigma: friends and colleagues out of France who’ve taken the house scene by storm with their distinct styles and undeniable stage presence. This weekend they made history by releasing their first album together, Veni, Vidi, Vici.

The album concept was born from No Redemption, their back-to-back event project that emerged back in 2017. Last year, the boys dug it up from the grave with a warning that they have “No intentions to please anyone or redeem ourselves” after the hiatus. Simply put, they came, they saw, and they conquered.

The guys began to roll out the album in October with the release of “A Prayer,” an energetic all-purpose banger. Singles to follow included “When The Beat Bang,” “Barbarian,” and “Giving Me Life” featuring industry tastemaker Kaleena Zanders. Each charges up the senses with the gritty detail and bouncy basslines we’ve come to love from Tchami and Malaa.

Six more tracks grabbed a spot on Veni, Vidi, Vici, including “Underground” with Loge21, the brilliant bass house duo who stake claim to the Culture909 imprint. This track incorporates a little blast of DnB surrounded by warehouse-worthy synth effects. Next, listeners transport to “Nineteen 84” with Disco Lines, who adds a bit of sparkle and shine to the track.

“Gotham” and “Losing You” see Tchami and Malaa break free from the visiting artists. The former is a tease, featuring a slow build that runs almost the gamut of the track. At the top, the dancefloor is primed and ready to drop into the smooth groove. “Losing You” follows with a classic house vocal that gets interrupted by trippy, future-forward sound details.

Rising star Koos enters the fray as we pull past the halfway point. Together, the trio delivers “Like This,” a moody tune decorated with acid stabs and a grumbling vocal. Rounding out the pack of fresh beats is “Dial 999,” a dramatic selection perfect for the club when our bodies are packed tight, and we’re losing it under the lasers.
