Alix Perez has fully released his latest project, Gloom, via his 1985 Music imprint featuring collaborations with Flowdan, Visages, and Ebb.

Alix Perez, the man behind the coveted label 1985 Music, has steadily crafted a lasting legacy for himself with his soundscapes and those found on his imprint. Honed into a signature aesthetic and sonic expertise, he has created a cult following behind his and his label’s music that is all too understandable considering their talent.

It doesn’t matter the season; Alix Perez and friends at 1985 Music have always had a knack for painting horror soundscapes with music. He’s done that once again on the latest offering on the imprint, Gloom. Featuring three collaborations and one solo track, Perez and friends spin a haunting tale fit for a late-night sound system party.

Alix Perez’s solo track, “Psychosis,” opens the project with a statement, immediately hooking listeners with that signature addicting dubstep tempo. The 140 beat takes a slowed turn however in the following track to keep the flow of Gloom harmonious. Released earlier this month, “Militia” is a low-end weapon in Perez’s arsenal, just as its name suggests. The long-awaited collaboration with UK grime vocalist Flowdan did not disappoint fans as they worked in unison to craft a dark, twisted sonic tale on their track.

The craved dubstep pace returns into full swing on the final two collaborations. 1985 Music fans will undoubtedly recognize “Circadian” with the talented French quartet Visages, as it has been an unreleased gem circulating other DJs’ sets and mixes for months. “Hazchem” marks Alix Perez’s second collaboration with Ebb since their first on the Atlas / 2 compilation. The pair work seamlessly to conclude the project with a final wobbling bassline that demands to be played on big speakers.

Gloom is out everywhere now, so be sure to run to Spotify or your preferred platform to listen to the full release for yourself!
