‘A State Of Trance Year Mix 2023’ Will Keep You Dancing ‘Til the Ball Drop

It’s A State Of Trance Year Mix time, and this one’s a doozy, rounding up 111 tracks from the who’s who of the industry!

For the past two decades, near the turn of the calendar year, the trance family has gathered around the speakers to experience the energy of the ASOT Year Mix. From fan favorites to the tunes that may have skirted past your radar, A State Of Trance has got you covered! Within the 111 tracks woven into this year’s mix, you’ll find legends galore, like Above & Beyond, Aly & Fila, Andrew Rayel, Ferry Corsten, Gareth Emery, Solarstone, and the list goes on and on.

This go-round feels extra special because the tracklist, curated by label pioneer Armin van Buuren, exposes the modern-day evolution of the genre. The lines between trance, progressive, and techno seem to be fading at an all-time high, and what that means is that there’s simply so much more to love. But, what remains tried and true are the artists that have made ASOT the go-to brand when you want to get lost on the dancefloor.

Armin sets the tone with Roland Clark, nodding to the explosion of technology with a track intentionally titled, “Am I AI?.” Then, the time capsule lurches forward, making a couple of cornerstone stops along the way. These include “Beautiful Life,” which was this year’s SHINE Ibiza Anthem produced by Paul van Dyk, Marc van Linden, and Sue McLaren, as well as “To The Stars (A Dreamstate Anthem)” by Giuseppe Ottaviani for Dreamstate Europe. Trancers will return home to the original theme in closing, feasting their ears on Armin’s extrospective, “AI vs Humanity.”

While 2023 proved to be a phenomenal year for music, shining bright as a beacon for the impending year is “Destination,” the official ASOT 2024 Anthem by Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Rank 1, and Ruben de Ronde.
