Cesco Returns to 1985 Music for ‘Up The Place’

in Album Review

Cesco unleashes the IDs all of your favorite DJs have had in heavy rotation throughout the festival season with the release of Up The Place.

Cesco has been taking over sound systems left and right with each heater of a track he produces. The tastemakers over at 1985 Music saw his potential early on, and with the help of some of the scene’s finest, his sounds have quickly reached all corners of the globe. With tracks like “Move Too Slow” and “Bomba, ” it’s no surprise why Cesco has everyone’s attention.

Back for his third project with 1985 Music, Cesco came with a core artist mentality and took his talents to new heights. Today, the tracks that many have been begging for finally have a forever home. Up The Place is a short but hard-hitting collection of four heaters with influence from Hamdi and Bidl within the mix. Get the best sound system you have readily available because you’ll want to hear this EP crystal clear.

The song you’ve probably heard in nearly every bass set this festival season, “GITP,” starts the ep off with rapid fire. The buildup of ticking catapults you into a slew of Tamborine shimmies met with sensual female vocals. Next up, Bidl helps bring the energy to neutral on “Overdue.” Melodic, whimsical elements clash with futuristic, low-warbled bass perfectly within this track to create a memorable soundscape.

Here to tear “Up The Place” with its high-energy frequencies is the second solo track on the EP. With a rapid BPM present the entire song, your heart rate will rise faster than a treadmill. Another fan-familiar favorite, “Swing King,” blends Cesco and Hamdi’s distinct sounds perfectly. Nodes of basslines and heavy drums layer together and ring out as the music production swings you seamlessly beat to beat.
