Swedish House Mafia’s Roblox concert will feature a scavenger hunt and digital collectibles.
Swedish House Mafia is joining the likes of Carl Cox, FloRida, and Elton John with the announcement of an upcoming metaverse event. The decorated mainstage EDM trio has chosen Roblox as their platform of choice for a concert on December 1 at 6pm in partnership with Republic Records and DJ’s World.
The Swedish supergroup is attempting to differentiate their digital event by offering digital fashion collectibles, a scavenger hunt, and other playable games. For instance, an experience inspired by Swedish House Mafia’s collaboration with The Weeknd, “Moth to a Flame,” allows users to ride a polygonal moth through a virtual forest to collect items.
Swedish House Mafia consists of Steve Angello, Axwell, and Sebastian Ingrosso. Each was already successful in his own right prior to forming the group in 2008, but singles like “One,” “Save the World” and Don’t You Worry Child” propelled them into a higher echelon of the rapidly unfolding EDM landscape, cementing them as a fixture of major festival lineups.
That is until the trio parted ways after their farewell tour. It concluded in March of 2013 with a performance at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida. After a media campaign that built considerable anticipation, Angello, Axwell, and Ingrosso reunited at the 2018 edition of the same festival with a world tour the following year.
In the years since, Swedish House Mafia has performed in stadiums throughout the world. They released their long-awaited debut studio-length album, Paradise Again, in 2021, along with a live version of the album earlier this year. They followed it up with a new single called “Ray Of Solar” in August.
Swedish House Mafia’s Roblox concert takes place on December 1 at 6pm EST. To join the pre-event lobby, visit the official page for the event on Roblox.
