Mersiv Goes ‘Out Of Bounds’ on Sophomore Album

in New Releases

Mersiv showcases his artistic growth and boundary-pushing bass style with the release of his latest album, Out Of Bounds.

Turn back the clock to 2015, and you’ll find Mersiv taking the first steps in his career as he began to explore the bass music realm. Flash forward to 2019, and you’ll find the release of Digital Eden, a massive EP that helped propel him to the next stage as a producer, setting the tone for what was to come. Then, after taking his talents to WAKAAN to drop some heat on that imprint, he delivered another major body of work for fans to feast their ears on: his debut album, Pretty Dark Loud.

Mersiv continued to showcase his dynamic style after that album with “How I Step” on Deadbeats and “Juggernaut” with Kyral x Banko on his MorFlo Records imprint during an otherwise quiet 2022. But this bass artist was cooking up something amazing for 2023, and now his second album, Out Of Bounds, has arrived to help show off his sonic evolution.

The lead track, “I Like It When You Move,” is the perfect opener for the album as it powers forward with pitched vocals, guttural bass drops, and plenty of swagger. It’s off to the races from there as Mersiv teams up with Wreckno for the ever-energetic “Bounce” before the title track brings you back down to Earth with an onslaught of bass that will punch you in the gut.

Another standout on Out Of Bounds lands with “Coast to Coast,” which brings ProbCause into the mix for a bass-fueled ride with a sick lyrical flow. “Troubles” with HEYZ also stands tall by blending the past and present by sampling the classic folk song “Trouble So Hard” by Vera Hali and flipping it into a jaw-dropping experience that will leave you breathless. If you’re looking to get whisked away to a far-off wub-filled paradise, then “Dreamscape” with Saint Sinner is the track for you, but don’t skip Mersiv’s solo tracks toward the end, “Hypnotize,” “Fractions of Time,” and “Restless,” if you want to see what the future holds for his sound.

Listen to Out Of Bounds on Spotify or your preferred streaming service, and catch Mersiv on tour when he heads to a city near you.
