Will Sparks Unveils Latest Album, ‘Accepted Concept’

Will Sparks solidifies his status as an innovator of dance music on his latest album, Accepted Concept.

Will Sparks should be a familiar name among seasoned veterans of the scene. For over a decade now, the Australian DJ and producer has been a key player in the dance music space. Many may know him for his extremely successful run in Melbourne bounce, but he was forced to reinvent himself when the scene saw a decline in demand for this music. Will Sparks is no novice, though.

Over the years, he’s stayed true to his original vision of creating an unmatched energy and aura with his live performances. While many genres have come and gone, Will Sparks has persevered and championed genres outside of his original space. Now, newer fans are discovering him with the explosive rise of big room techno. Unlike others, Will Sparks is using this genre to bridge the gap between different scenes — like techno and hard dance or psytrance, for example.

This newfound mission of closing the disconnect between genres is evident in his newest album, Accepted Concept via his own CLUBWRK imprint. Serving as a callback to his first release ever, this album brings his career full circle and opens up different paths for the future. Older fans will find comfort in tracks like “Blow Your Mind,” “The Dom,” and “The Chant.” Each encapsulates his high-octane style from the past while updating it for the present.

In contrast, new listeners are welcomed into the world of Will Sparks with records like “Break The Walls” and “Now Or Never” featuring Sara Phillips. Perfecting his big room techno style, “Indestructible” and “Tension” open the door for casual listeners to come in and discover something new while catering to seasoned listeners with exciting sounds. Of course, Will Sparks made sure to add a little flare with “Creed,” which takes inspiration from hard dance music with fast tempos, rolling basslines, and bright melodies in between.

While Accepted Concept is vastly different from Will Sparks’ original work, it’s clear that every ounce of his passion went into creating the project for his dedicated fans as much as he made it for himself. This album is the culmination of his decade-plus career filled with mesmerizing sounds, infectious kick drums, and a dynamic sound range. Luckily, you can catch Accepted Concept in action as Will Sparks is coming to North America very soon on his world tour that complements this release.
