Dirtybird Records brings forth the Dirtybird Players Compilation with tracks from Arnold & Lane, n808, Mike Kerrigan, Two Tails, and more.

The brainchild of Claude VonStroke, Dirtybird is known far and wide for its legacy of bringing the best of house to the forefront of dance music. Throughout the years and phases of the scene, the company has maintained a fierce passion for all things house, techno, funk, and more. This track record continues with the Dirtybird Records imprint, as previous releases have platformed greats such as Ferris Wheel Recordings creator Gene Ferris, Nikki Nair, Mz Worthy, and Chicago-born legend Green Velvet.

While known for hosting some of the OGs in the scene, the Dirtybird label has also made a name for itself in giving a platform to those next in line through its releases. The Dirtybird Players Compilation in particular provides a platform for the next best players in the field. Previously created in 2013, the Dirtybird Players compilation has now been revived a decade later, just in time to coincide with the second half of the Dirtybird Players tour. This edition rounds up the next class of players with tracks from Bruno Furlan, Arad Maor, n808, Mike Kerrigan, Teklow, Two Tails, and Jaksan, among others.

Tickets to the remaining Dirtybird Players tour stops are available via the Dirtybird website. Grab yours and continue reading for more on the tracks below!

The Dirtybird Players brought the funky, the weird, and everything in between.

The Dirtybird Players compilation takes off with Bruno Furlan‘s VIP of his track “Another Planet” with DJ Glen. Furlan twists the track, exploring beyond the more minimal style of the original version, and did not come to play regarding the funk, as he added a bumping bassline and a playful call and response. Further down the line, LA-based duo Arnold & Lane bring “Amplify Your Vibe” to listeners with the full intention of getting you clapping and grooving in time to their sounds. This track was an instant favorite as I recalled hearing it played out at a Dirtybird Players event in San Francisco. I immediately felt it live true to its name, bringing the funky energy to its peak.

Up next, San Francisco native n808 gets plenty weird with sustained synths and actual cat meows in the making of “The Cat’s Pajamas.” This track is another standout as we get to see n808 display his boundless creativity and unhinged playfulness in a song unlike anything we’ve heard before. Fresh off the release of his Liquid Dreams EP, Mike Kerrigan takes the reins with “Dark Play.” His meticulous sound design reels listeners in, starting with hypnotic, techno-like kicks and a crisp sound that’s pleasing to the ear. This tune takes you on a journey, progressing and ending differently than you might have expected.

A final favorite, “Cha Cha Cha,” comes from the fusion of Brazilian duo Malik Mustache and Las Vegas producer Teklow. This track surprises you with a percussion-filled rhythm that takes full control of your body, moving your hips like you never knew possible. The Two Tails duo keeps that energy going with “Mind Games,” a track that could only be described as a seduction of the ears.

The Dirtybird Players Compilation truly brought a taste of everything to the table and did not disappoint. Filled with nothing but hitters, it was the perfect teaser of what’s in store for the remaining part of the Dirtybird Players tour. Diehard fans can listen on repeat while they grab tickets to their nearest tour stop.
