Household names in heavy bass feature heavily on the SVDDEN DEATH-curated Summoning of the Eclipse 2023 lineup.
Last year, SVDDEN DEATH brought some of the biggest names in heavy bass music to The Caverns in Pelham, Tennessee for the debut of his brand-new festival, Summoning of the Eclipse. The lineup for the highly anticipated follow-up has arrived — and it’s starting its fair share of conversations among diehard fans.
Topping the bill for the October 13-15 gathering is SVDDEN DEATH (real name Danny Howland) under his darker and more metal-infuenced Voyd setup. The names next to his have piqued the curiosity of attendee hopefuls, however. One is a blurred-out special guest, and the other is something called Masterhand. Online searches for the latter turn up little, raising more questions than they answer.
The headline billings aren’t the only part of this lineup that has bass heads talking. Dubloadz is playing a “revival” set three years after he called it quits in 2020, not to mention that Kill The Noise and Bro Safari will perform a set together as Kill Safari. Performances by the likes of A Hundred Drums, Apashe, Eptic, Sweetooth, Kai Wachi, MUST DIE!, and Space Wizard ensure that Summoning of the Eclipse 2023 will be a hot topic long after the stage lights fade away.
Howland first discovered dubstep acts like Skream and Rusko while attending parties in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2008. He arguably broke through in 2017, his rise underscored by the release of his hard-hitting single “Take Ya Head Off.” The following year saw him deliver the four-track EP VOYD Vol. 1, which would go on to inspire the stage show of its namesake.
Having performed at The Caverns before any other DJ, Howland organized two events there before announcing the inaugural 2022 edition of Summoning of the Eclipse. The gathering not only utilizes the subterranean amphitheater, but also a festival-sized stage in the woods above.
Tickets to SVDDEN DEATH’s Summoning of the Eclipse go on sale Friday, August 11th. Register for the on-sale and find additional information on the Summoning of the Eclipse website.
