Swedish House Mafia Drops “Ray Of Solar”

Swedish House Mafia rides the wave of their recently released live album with a fresh tune for their fans to feast their ears on, “Ray Of Solar.”

It feels like yesterday that Swedish House Mafia announced their return to the scene and began working together again as a trio. Their studio album, Paradise Again, put their refreshed sound and creative direction on display as they embarked on the next chapter of their story, which was marked by headlining performances at Coachella and, later, a full-length tour. Now, on the heels of “See The Light” with Fridayy and Paradise Again: The Live Album‘s release, Swedish House Mafia have gifted their fans with a new tune, “Ray Of Solar.”

In June, Swedish House Mafia took the stage at Kappa FuturFestival in Turin, Italy, and it was there that the trio closed out their set with “Ray Of Solar” for the first time. Since then, the track has found its way into their set at Ushuaïa Ibiza as well as during performances from Axwell at Ultra Europe and Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso at Tomorrowland. During the latter of the two’s set, they dropped the news that more music was on its way. This track therefore marks the latest taste of what’s to come from the trio.

“Ray Of Solar” isn’t a dance-forward song from the jump as it opens in a cinematic manner with strings guiding listeners through the first seconds. Then, angelic vocals enter to sing the repeated phrase “I ride out on a ray of solar, I’m fleeing / I ride a chariot of notions, I’m fleeing,” before the tune drops straight into a piano melody and the bassline kicks in. From there, it’s off to the races as the pace is kicked up a notch to spark some quick dancefloor energy with another quick bridge just to give everyone a moment to breathe and bask in its glory.

Check out “Ray Of Solar” on YouTube or your preferred platform, watch their Big Slap Livestream on YouTube or Discord today at 1:15pm PT (10:15pm CEST), and stay tuned for more news from Swedish House Mafia by following them on social media.
