Au5 provides a preview of his forthcoming album on Ophelia, Bridges Between, with the captivating single “Bridges.”

Bass production wizard, Austin Collins, known for his solo project Au5 has built his range of sound over the past decade. From dubstep to trance, he’s been mastering the art of diverse emotions throughout his project’s lifetime. Catching the attention of other artists in the process, he’s collaborated with the likes of Slander, HALIENE, Tritonal, and Seven Lions. Now, as Au5 looks to continue his artistic journey, he announced that he’ll be releasing his latest album on Ophelia Records, Bridges Between, this fall.

While fans will have to wait until October 13 to bask in the full glory of Bridges Between, Au5 is giving fans a sneak peek by presenting his first single off the album, “Bridges“. Joining him on the track is singer-songwriter Linney who has become renowned for her captivating voice. Her vocals have moved crowds at EDC Las Vegas and even landed her in popular TV shows and video games like Riverdale and Fortnite.

“Bridges” is a multifaceted track, with striking vocals by Linney and a mixture of melodic house and halftime beats by Au5. The beginning is slow and euphoric before dropping into a more upbeat melody that is sure to get listeners dancing. Although this is only a glimpse into Au5’s sixth studio album, the anticipation is growing and will continue to build up to the full release later this year.

Bridges to me feels like an invitation to connect and be vulnerable. It was written on Zoom during the pandemic from across the world (Los Angeles, CA; Adelaide, Australia & Denver). We wanted to highlight how music is universal and how incredible it is that modern technology allows us to connect wherever we are.

As we were writing it, we imagined two hands fearlessly reaching out for one another, longing for connection, spanning oceans, latching hands and interlocking fingers to create a literal bridge. Our hope is that Bridges reminds us all of the beauty that arises when hearts harmonize across time zones, effortlessly bridging the gaps that separate us.
