Melodic bass artist Xavi brings his blissful, upbeat energy to Halcyon for the release of his latest four-track EP, Summerdew.

Those who have fallen in love with melodic bass over the past few years have surely encountered the soundscapes from Xavi. Known for releases on labels like Ophelia, Lost In Dreams, and Proximity, he’s carved out a special niche for himself in the emotion-fueled realm – and it’s clear that nothing is slowing him down anytime soon. Now, he’s taken his talents to Halcyon to make his grand debut on the imprint with Summerdew, a four-track EP showcasing his sound’s more dynamic side.

Xavi set off to break the mold with Summerdew by injecting added energy into his melodic style while retaining the beautiful melodies that have become his signature. He said about the EP’s creation, “I put together some of my more experimental tendencies to create a truly unique sound that is like nothing I’ve released before, both danceable and rich with emotion, the best of both worlds.”

The title track, which doubled as the EP’s lead single, kicks off the ride as Xavi teams up with Sep7ember. From the vocals to the stunning drops, “Summerdew” will keep listeners coming back for more as they peel back layer after layer of this juicy tune. “Stand Tall” arrives next with another powerful display of uplifting, melodic bass that’s littered with tasty inclusions like modulated vocals and spacey blips.

Similar elements are found in “ChurchGarden,” which features a contrast of glitchy bass moments with those where the vocals are placed front and center to sweep you off your feet. Then, “Ode” closes out the EP as Joss Lockwood provides her gorgeous vocals over the masterfully hypnotic beat from Xavi – this one will surely leave a lasting impression long after its runtime.

Listen to Summerdew on Spotify or your preferred platform, and stay tuned for more from Xavi by following him on social media.
