Russian artist Nuage uses inspiration from UK Garage to create his latest two-tracker that’s landed on Lane 8’s This Never Happened.
Turn the clock back a decade, and you’ll find Nuage toiling away in the studio, making tunes in the realm of atmospheric dubstep and silky drum and bass. Over time, the Russian producer began to layer vibrant house releases into his growing discography as he continued his sonic exploration. Nuage’s powerful, deep house grooves led to his emergence on Anjunadeep in recent years, while he also carved out homes on House Of Youth, Purified, and This Never Happened.
The latter of that list of imprints is the latest that Nuage has graced, as today he’s unveiled his two-tracker, Go Back Dreaming / In The Cold. The lead track, “Go Back Dreaming,” warms the soul from the jump as the percussion and bright chords take control. The layered vocal sample commands attention, urging listeners to put their hands in the air as the gorgeous groove graces their ears.
Drawing inspiration from UK Garage for the upbeat track, Nuage dove into the story behind it by saying, “The track is about a moment of happiness you might lose sometimes, but you always look for it, so it’s important to go back to your dreams – even in tough times.” And it’s safe to say that “Go Back Dreaming” is one of those perfect summer jams that you can play anywhere to lift your spirits and brighten your day.
“In The Cold” arrives next and keeps the vibes rolling with its hi-hats, piano notes, and punchy drums. These contrasting elements work harmoniously before Nuage takes his foot off the pedal to put the synths and airy echoed vocals swirl at the forefront of the soundscape. This atmospheric tune is one that you’ll come back to again and again, so make sure to give it a spin.
