Fresh off their set at Bonnaroo last weekend, Louis The Child unveils their song of the summer, “Walls,” with a fresh music video.
If Louis The Child is known for one thing, it’s that the duo is never afraid to experiment. Over the years, their sound has taken different shapes and forms as the duo has reimagined the rules of electronic music. Their adventurous ability to blend genres has led them to produce a number of successful feel-good anthems and earn slots at some of the world’s biggest stages. After ending last year with a dark yet lively sound on their Black Marble album, the Chicago-born duo is ushering in a new era with the release of their third single this year and unveiling their song of the summer, “Walls.”
Leaning on the vocals of rising singer-songwriter Claire Rosinkranz (best known for her social-media hit “Backyard Boy”), this playful indie tune is filled with sugary synths, energetic beats, and pop-flavored ballads that make it the perfect soundtrack for long summer nights. The song’s kinetic spirit is also evident in the accompanying music video, which features the producers, Rosinkranz, and their friends racing through a go-kart track. Directed by Neema Sadeghi and Ethan Frank, the fast-paced music video perfectly mirrors the song’s theme about the self-doubt one faces when navigating feelings for another person.
Louis The Child is also gearing up for a jam-packed summer with performances at festivals, including Lollapalooza and Moonrise Festival. Plus, the duo is bringing back the second edition of their Alter Ego multi-stage event at The Brooklyn Mirage on August 19, which is set to include stand-up comedy, live improv, numerous dance artists, a unique Black Marble set, and a special back-to-back performance with a surprise guest. Tickets can be accessed through DICE.
