Manila Killa and Hotel Garuda reunite with their new project, CHROMEBODIES, and release debut single “REGENESIS.”
Longtime friends Manila Killa and Hotel Garuda have more than a decade of experience under their belts. Back in 2014, they were once the original duo under the Hotel Garuda moniker, but in 2018, Manila Killa branched off onto his own, but the two have remained friends and collaborators ever since. This year, they’re reuniting under the new project CHROMEBODIES, which will explore high-BPM dance music and see the two artists embark on a new sonic journey.
Giving fans a taste and building excitement for the official debut, CHROMEBODIES have released high-energy bootlegs of Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name,” The Neighbourhood’s “Sweater Weather,” Skrillex and Swae Lee’s “Mixed Signals,” and Nelly Furtado’s “Say It Right.” This four-pack of bootleg edits has been dubbed SWEAT SEASON 1 by the duo, with each track marked by a quick tempo and driving four-on-the-floor. Though these bootlegs are incredibly fun, fans have been anxious for more. The wait is finally over for their inaugural release. “REGENESIS” is out now!
“REGENESIS” is pure high-octane, techno goodness – a far departure from CHROMEBODIES’ individual sounds thus far. Listeners will be able to get lost in the trenches of a rave or club with this tune’s rapid-fire kick drums, a galloping bassline, and a repetitive, hypnotic vocal sample. Reverb-laden synths take over in the breakdown with a cascading melody that offers transcendence before the techno kicks back in and whips listeners back down to earth. “REGENESIS” is a loud statement announcing CHROMEBODIES’ arrival, and we can’t wait to hear more.
Turn up the heat, get ready to sweat, listen to “REGENESIS” on your favorite platform, and keep an eye out on CHROMEBODIES’ social media for more from the duo!
