Taygeto Reemerges with New EP on AVA Recordings

Rising trance artist Taygeto has awoken from his release slumber to drop off two fresh tunes for fans to feast their ears on.

The trance side of the dance music scene might’ve been in a unique place over the past few years as artists in genres such as techno and progressive continue to snag the attention of many. While the future has been murky at times, there have been some bright spots in recent years, especially from rising stars in the trance community. Taygeto is one of those artists, and he’s already begun to make his mark on the scene with releases on labels including Elliptical Sun, Anjunabeats, In My Opinion, and AVA Recordings.

Taygeto closed out a massive run of releases in 2022 with a flurry of amazing tracks, but this year has been quiet for the rising trance talent until now. For his first release of 2023, the Italian producer set his sights on one of his biggest home bases, AVA Recordings, and delivered Countermeasure / Lorem Ipsum, two quality tracks that will get trance family members grooving.

“Countermeasures” opens this two-track ride into the trance realm with an energetic punch that features banging drums, almost as if you’re being led straight into the largest battle of your life. A sense of calm sweeps over you during the build before the clash of titans commences and smacks you right in the face with techy energy.

Then, Taygeto takes everyone to an even deeper plane of existence with “Lorem Ipsum.” While the name might lead you to believe this is a cookie-cutter track (after all, it’s placeholder text), the soundscape is anything but. The booming bassline carries you forward as synths enter the fray, but when the melody comes through fully it’s like you’re being lifted up to the heavens, successfully breaking free of what lies beneath the surface’s grasp.
